The Machame Route, affectionately known as the Whiskey Route for being a touch tougher than the Marangu 'Coca-Cola Route', is the most popular trail up Kilimanjaro for good reason: it offers spectacular variety, excellent acclimatisation when done over 7 days, and a higher summit success rate than the 6-day version most budget operators push.
We almost never sell the 6-day Machame. The extra night dramatically improves your summit chances, and your enjoyment of the climb. The few hundred dollars you save on a 6-day climb is not worth turning back at Stella Point.
